The Donkey Forever Care Home

Bric-a-brac donations for donkey care home

The Donkey Forever Care Home mission, Hurghada in the Red Sea Egypt.

We were contacted by a very concerned lady who visits there and had noticed the pure suffering of several donkeys based near a small town. Upon our visit we were appalled to see these donkeys who were tied up in 40 ° heat hardly any shade or water and nothing to eat.

However small a donation it all helps and would be truly appreciated. If you would like to help the Donkey Forever Care Home in this rescue mission please send a cheque or postal order made out to Donkey Forever Care Home and post it to Estherlee Stables, Green Lane, Crockleford Heath, Colchester, CO7 7BH with your contact address so we can keep you up to date with all what we are doing to keep up the special care for the donkeys.

Our aim is to make a safe place for donkeys to be cared for in the way that they should be and with your help we can make this happen.

One of these poor donkeys just roams around trying to scavenge any scraps of food but it constantly met with abuse and mockery, being beaten by locals and physically chased away by the throwing of stones. This Donkey is starving but yet this poor animal still lets people touch him. He is full of scabs and sores and is very thin. Another donkey was found tied up to a cart in some ones back yard with only peppers to eat no water and the only shade he had was the shade of his own cart. But unfortunately once the burning sun moved around he was left with the sun reflecting on the wall opposite him all day long. This unnecessary neglect and suffering is not acceptable and we felt we had to act.

With your help we can continue our work and commitment.

We also came upon a young horse who's owner seemed to think it was funny to bully him. He was very thin, unwell, overgrown hooves and so out of condition we felt we had to help him too. Other donkeys are there to pull carts so there owners could earn a living and we found them to be reasonably looked after, but we need to help the ones that are not.

Whilst there we were introduced to a young professional man who is a solicitor and who is deeply passionate about donkeys as we are. He has so kindly offered his services free of charge to act as a professional to oversee that all our fundraising gets to be used in the correct ways and helps the donkey there to start getting the care, medication, food etc they so urgently need like our donkeys back at home. He can also liaise with us on a regular basis to keep us informed at all times.

Help us to carry on rescuing donkeys that have been abandoned and abused.
